The Australian Museum in Sydney, NSW Australia, had a successful campaign
a few years ago to prevent Eric, the opalised pliosaur, from going
overseas. "Share certificates" were issued, and the campaign was
promoted on QUANTUM, the science show on the government-funded TV network.
