In Nomenclature 3, how would you classify yard goods (material that has been cut from a bolt of cloth but not made up into anything)? And what would you call it? I can't find anything in the lexicon.

At today's Mecklenburg Bar Association's annual Law Day luncheon, Tom [Hanchett] received the prestigious Liberty Bell Award and a standing ovation from the hundreds of attorneys and judges in attendance. The award recognizes "a non-lawyer who has performed community service that has strengthened the American system of freedom under the law." In presenting it, Jon Buchan of McGuire Woods talked about the importance of history and courage for lawyers and described Tom's curation of the COURAGE exhibit, help in Bar training along with numerous other examples of serving our community. Congratulations, Tom, on this richly deserved recognition! You make us proud. - Emily Zimmern, President, Levine Museum of the New South, 2011/05/05
