We are currently in the early stages of fundraising for a new climate control system for our historic house, but as a stop-gap measure until we raise all the funding, it has been suggested by some board members that we install a ductless mini split HVAC unit in the attic of our house/museum. The attic/third floor will be used mostly for meeting space and storage of non-collection items.
Does anyone have any experience of using these units in an historic house? I’m curious to know the pros and cons. We are located in coastal South Carolina (hot and humid). Not sure if this is relevant – it is a wooden historic house with little insulation.
Thanks
