re: Horse Carriage SpeedThe average speed of the horse pulling a buggy is 10 - 15 miles an hour. A horse can go as fast as 35 to 40, but not for long.

Does anyone happen to have a rough figure for how fast the average horse-drawn carriage would have travelled over typical dirt roads (assuming it wasn't rainy or muddy, etc.)? Thank you!
