St. Paul, Oregon in the Willamette Valley a bit north of Salem was a primary settlement of retiring French trappers and traders. There is a historical society associated with this area which has (had) some pretty wonderful stuff. I cannot think of their name and they are not listed in the Official Museum Directory. I'd suggest too the Fort Vancouver National Historic Site in Vancouver Washington. Both are closely associated with the French fur trade.
