Yes, please don't limit to a specific age group! There have been many job creation programs in Canada that limit participation to a "youth" age group that sometimes cuts off at mid-20s, sometimes at 30. For many individuals in our program at the University of Victoria, while the programs are perfectly suited to where people are in their careers, the age limitations don't work for them (ie. mid-30's).

I prefer the "emerging" term, as it encompasses the notion that these are people that are at a particular stage in their careers where they're looking to branch out, seek new professional relationships and networks, and contribute on other levels outside of their own instutions or regions.

Perhaps ICOM just needs to find the right term to describe the group, then let individuals decide whether they fit the spirit of the group, rather than let the age range limit who can and cannot participate.

Bravo for the notion.

Yes, this is the exact spirit behind the original idea.

Mario

PS: about the age in the group. It is not useful (also I suppose it is not
legal) to limit to participate in a group on the base of age.
Must to fit the spirit of the group, mentors also can join the group.

..also please don't limit to much the age...I'm very near to 38...ad I want
to be very active in the group... ;-)
