In our exhibit hall we use basic motion detectors (available at Walmart,
Radio Shack, etc.) to activate background music or sounds in various parts of
our exhibit hall. The music is recorded on a Racom digital repeater which
continuously plays as long as the system is activated. These sound effects
can be recorded on the repeated via computer .wav files or recorded directly
from the source, via a telephone handset. The repeater is then linked to a
motion detector, set in strategic locations in the exhibit hall. When a
visitor enters a particluar area, the music or background sounds related to
that area are activated.

Thanks,
Chris Woodson
