Web Developer

The Tech Museum of Innovation is an educational resource established to
engage people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and experiencing
technologies affecting their lives and to inspire the young to become
innovators in the technologies of the future.

Join a dynamic, creative team responsible for the web site of one of
America's premiere science and technology museums.  The Tech seeks an
innovative and adaptive developer with a diverse technical background. The
Web Developer is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Manager of
Online Services.

Responsibilities

… Provide technical expertise to implement new web content and applications.
… Maintain structure and integrity of Tech web site.
… Integrate new web technologies with web and museum experiences.
… Perform other duties as assigned.
- Work as museum's floor staff on assigned week days, weekend days or
holiday. (Assignments include one week day or weekend day per month and one
holiday annually.)


Requirements

… Minimum 1-2 years web development experience.
… Solid professional experience with Perl / CGI .
… Ability to administer web servers (Apache, Netscape) and tools in a UNIX
environment
… Working knowledge of current HTML specifications.
… Familiarity with TCP/IP networks.
… Desire to work collaboratively in a small team and multitask among
diverse challenging projects.
… Sense of humor and love of learning.
… SQL / web database integration exposure a plus.
… JavaScript a plus.
