PROGRAM COORDINATOR

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

Join a dynamic, creative team operating one of America's premiere science
and technology museums. The Program Coordinator reports to the Executive
Director of the Robert N. Noyce Center for Learning/Vice President of
Education. The new Center for Learning (CFL) is developing programs and
learning opportunities for educators with the goal of improving science and
technology education in regional classrooms. The Coordinator will play a
central role in delivering exceptional services that will impact teaching
and student learning. The Program Coordinator will be responsible for the
smooth and efficient running of the CFL/Education department.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Coordination:  Coordinate the schedule and logistics for all Center
for Learning (CFL) activities. Manage the room scheduling, audio-visual
equipment, and set-up for diverse activities within the CFL. Ensure that
all meeting and training arrangements are in place and trouble shoot for
last minute needs. Help conduct training and meetings and become an
integral part of the professional development team.

Communication:  Coordinate all forms of communication for the CFL. The
Program Coordinator will often be the point of contact for the Center's
clients and will be responsible for first and lasting impressions, both
internally and externally. Since the CFL is a new resource in the education
community, this public relations function is critical to the success of the
effort. The Project Coordinator will handle all telephone and electronic
communications and publish brochures, newsletters, and reports, as needed.

Budget and Records Coordination:  Process all expenditures and keep
detailed records of CFL budget. Keep records of attendance at CFL
activities, track services provided, and monitor achievement of CFL goals.
Maintain CFL files and records. Provide a monthly report to the Vice
President of Education on department status.

Equipment and Materials Management:  Develop systems for managing all CFL
materials and equipment, including asset lists. Manage all supplies and
materials for activities in the CFL and for the department. When new staff
is hired, ensure that all aspects of their workspace are in order and that
each member of the department has what they need to perform their duties.
Master all internal Tech systems and become an expert resource on all CFL
programs and functioning, to maximize job satisfaction and success for all
department members.

Facilities Management: Oversee the initial set up of the McCabe hall office
space for the CFL staff. Complete the set up of the CFL training rooms,
storage room, and workspace. Become an expert on all CFL equipment and
develop users manuals for entire operation of the CFL space. Once all
facilities are in place, develop systems for monitoring and maintaining
everything in working order.

REQUIREMENTS:
* Minimum of five years of related experience and relevant education.
* Passion for learning and a strong interest in science and technology
education. Desire to contribute to the improvement of teaching and learning
and to make a difference.
* Ability to work as a team member to reach common goals in a harmonious,
constructive, and enjoyable manner.
* Excellent communication skills: the ability to verbally participate in a
dynamic and creative team, to communicate on the telephone and in person,
and to write clearly and persuasively.
* Excellent technical skills, with expertise in both Windows and Macintosh
computer software including word processing, database, spreadsheet and
desktop publishing.
* Strong audio-visual skills or a keen interest to learn.
* Ability to work well with the public of all ages and handle unexpected
developments with grace and humor.
* Willingness to work as museum floor staff on assigned week days, weekend
days, evenings, or holidays.
