I'm sure what would help you most is learning some of the
off-the-shelf collections management software products out there
(Argus, etc.). Problem is that I've never seen any general training
courses for these products. If you can get some training on these
products through an internship at a museum that has a collections
management software package that would be good.

Based on my own experience, I strongly recommend learning the
Microsoft package software (Word, Access, Excel). This is what the
government uses. Most people I know in non-government jobs use it as
well. In my previous job I used a wide range of software (Paradox,
Quattro Pro, Lotus, etc...) but I find that once you get the basic
skills down in one database or spreadsheet program that it is really
     easy to learn another.

I'm looking to take some computer-skills courses to enhance my
employability (just got my MA in Museum Studies).

Which database software/spreadsheet software would make me the most
widely marketable in the museum field? Any and all opinions welcome!
