researched historical articles on some aspect of history in
the Upper Midwest - defined here as The Dakotas, Illinois,
Minnesota, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Payment is on
acceptance.  Buys one time first rights only. Copyright
reverts to author. B&W prints preferred. No slides. Send
SASE for return of mss an photos.

Articles Wanted
Feature article: Maximum of 5,000 words. Minimum of 3,000
words. $330 - $360 depending on quality of photo with mss.
No queries. Send the full article on spec. Not interested
in previously published articles. B&W prints are a plus.

2 -3 articles of 2,000 words. On some aspect of history in
the above geographical areas. Send full article on spec.
One B&W print preferred. No slides. Pays $80 on acceptance.

Preservation column - a frequently asked question about
some aspect of preservation. $15 payment for the best
solution to a preservation problem. Pays on publication
with 2 tear sheets.

Scribes solumn - book reviews, websites of interest,
profiles of authors. Payment of 2 tear sheets upon
publication.

 Footnotes: interesting tidbits of history in the upper
midwest. 2 tear sheets upon publication 50 -100 words.
Cite your sources.

Profiles in history: 300 -600 word profiles of a unique
individual. Pays up to $40. Photo increases your chance of
being published. B&W only. Include copyright permissions
with all photos not your own.

Events: Send info on events occurring in the above areas.
No payment.
