Education Assistant
for
Historic Rosedale

The six month part-time position (24 hours per week: $15.00 per hour) will
begin May, 1998.  The job will involve assisting the Curator of Education in
enhancing our existing third grade school program plus establishing a new
program aimed at Junior High age students on the African American experience
at Historic Rosedale.  The position will include:

· historic research on
        1. slavery at Rosedale
        2. heirloom herbs & plants
· program development of eighth grade school tour on slavery
· marketing and scheduling of tour
· volunteer recruitment and training
· gardening work

Minimum requirements:  have previous experience in historic research, be
familiar with local research facilities; have an interest in history and/or
African-American culture; possess good computer, writing and communication
skills; gardening experience preferred; must be flexible about hours; must
provide own transportation.
