[handwritten bound Accession Book vs
computerized records]

I think there is software one can use (in the
Adobe Acrobat family - see www.adobe.com)
which allow one to scan realworld documents
and capture them as both "picture" and "smart data."
In this way one could could maintain a realworld
accession book along with a corresponding database.
Anyone else familiar with this type of software?

I believe such programs are used in the legal (and
archival?) professions, where hardcopy qualities (form)
of realworld documents are considered as data (content).
