My museum internship involved me in the day-to-day workings of the exhibits
department. I was invited to staff meetings (both departmental and museum
wide), was personally involved and my input was welcomed in exhibit planning
meetings, I worked on exhibit proposals and design and even ended up with an
exhibit installed on the main floor that I put together from initial
development stages. And all this at a large and prestigous (sp? I'm thinking
a little slow this morning) institution. After my internship a position
opened up and I was hired. All in all a great experience that put me on my
way in the museum field.
