Years ago, long before museum career and all that, I saw a great sign
at the entrance to (if memory serves) the Boston Museum of Fine Arts,
which very politely and cleverly pointed out that the true cost per
visit to the museum was something like $37.50, and that the admission
fee charged was modest in comparison. It has stuck in my mind ever
since. Now that's successful museum education...
