Hello, folks -
Your Friendly Librarian AGAIN!
Unfortunately, I have deleted Ellen Collins' original posting, so I hope
she is a member of the list.
As many of the present members of the list remember, we went through a
long, detailed discussion of the Enola Gay exhibition some months ago.
In order to not have to go through it again (interesting tho' it was),
I'd suggest that Ellen attack the Museum-L Archives and read through
the MANY [approx. 140] involved, well thought out and expressed postings
that reside there. Just in case you've missed it, the Archives can be
accessed by gophering to:
gopher://ucmp1.berkeley.edu/11/MLists/museuml
[NOTE: that's a "one" after "ucmp" and an "eleven" before the
"/MLists" stuff. The thing at the very end is an "L", not a "one"]
Ellen, in order to get both sides of the story, you might want to contact
the American Legion National Headquarters. They were instrumental in the
final outcome. Their snail mail address is 700 N. Pennsylvania St.,
Indianapolis, IN 46204. Phone (317)630-1200. They also have a Web Site
which has an e-mail function if time is important. The URL is:
http://www.legion.org
I'm sure they would be happy to share their views, too.
HTH
