I wish to announce the new URL for The Daguerreian Society Homepage on the
World Wide Web. (Our host institution experienced troubles with the server
and the webpage has since been moved to a new server.)  The URL is:

At this time we also updated the site and added several new features
including:

   *  an extensive survey of daguerreian literature
   *  an illustrated description of the daguerreian process
   *  an illustrated tour of the Anthony daguerreian manufactory
   *  the Table of Contents for each year of The Daguerreian Annual
   *  a daguerreian cartoon

We hope that you stop by during your web travels.  Be prepared to spend a bit
of time as we've endeavored to make the site rich in content as well as
visually enjoyable.  We solicit your feedback as it tells us how to make the
site even better. The site has been optimized for viewing with Netscape, but
should have an acceptable appearance with any web browser.  If you experience
