Ivy: I'm afraid there isn't much public transportation in Raleigh.
However, there is much to see and do in terms of cultural activities. If
you know where you will be staying (downtown? North Raleigh? RTP?) it'll
be easier to give you some pointers of things to do. If you're staying
downtown, you're in luck because there are quite a few things within
walking distance.

If I'm in town (my job takes me to all corners of North Carolina), I'd be
happy to drive you to the NC Museum of
Art. Its permanent collection is the best kept secret of the state.
