I wish I was going to the SEMC workshop in Raleigh. It sounds terrific. I
think you will find that the people at SEMC workshops (as well as their
annual meeting) are extremely friendly and people are usually very willing to
carpool to get places. Sidetrips often get organized. The Art Museum is
excellent and there are also several galleries worth visiting. The workshop
is being held at the new History Museum and the Natural Sciences museum is
just a few steps across the courtyard from that. Be sure to eat at the 42nd
St. Oyster Bar if you have the chance--it's a short walk from the History
Museum. let us know how the workshop (Preservation, Care and Re-housing of
Three Dimensional Objects) goes.
