Australia also has a set of Museum Standards - the National Museums
Competency Standards 1994 developed by Arts Training Australia and endorsed
by the National Training Board. These are being seen as a way of "achieving
industry relevant vocational education and training". One thought on these
is that they will help educators provide courses which produce graduates
with skills that are required in the workforce. They may also provide a
means for people working in the profession to upgrade skills and improve
their chances for advancing their careers.
