Gee, maybe everyone should take a look at the "new MCN". Please see our
www page at: http://world.std.com/~mcn

Please feel free to call me and ask me questions about what is included
in our annual conferences these days. We just have a very successful
conference in San Diego focusing on the use of hypermedia and
interactivity in museums. The preliminary program is still available at
our gopher site:

gopher gopher.std.com
choose Membership and Professional Organizations from the main menu
choose Museum Computer Network from the second menu
choose information on the 95 meeting from the third menu

As to why we now have a discussion list: we felt that it would be a good
(essential) way for members to communicate with each other, the Board to
communicate with members, and members to communicate with the Board. We
plan to send announcements concerning MCN, legislative updates and other
informative bulletins to MCN members. It is a benefit of membership in
the Museum Computer Network. MCN is not restricted to any particular
segment of the museum community. While it may have started out as a
group interested in collections management, its interests are much
broader (please see the list of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) listed on
the www page).

If you would like to become a member of MCN you may contact me or the
membership office at 8720 Georgia Ave, Suite 501, Silver Spring, MD
20912, (301) 585-4413, fax: (301) 495-0810.

Kathy
