Yes, determining insurance values is often difficult for Native
American, etc. objects.
One of the things our Department does is subscribe to Christie's,
Sotheby's and Butterfield & Butterfield auction catalogues to
help us determine insurance values for artifacts.  Some libraries
carry these if you don't want to subscribe yourself.
