I was born in 1961 and the Easy Bake oven was the hottest ticket for me for a Christmas gift item when I was a child. But I don't know how long it has been around, it could have been around since the 50's they still have them now.

Maybe it will be an exhibit of the mainstream, commercial type of items.
While I wasn't around in the 50s, I know television has a profound impact on
the gifts asked for by children (and adults). Wasn't the 50s the era when a
television became a common item in homes? So maybe the idea that "everyone"
wanted certain items is not that far off.

I'm not sure if this was mentioned yet, but was the Easy Bake Oven around
in the 50s, or was that 60s?
