Millville Army Airfield Museum

Executive Director

Will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Millville Army
Airfield Museum.  This museum preserves and interprets the history of the
Millville Army Airfield, located in an evolving historic district at the
Millville Airport in Millville, New Jersey.  This airport was dedicated by
the United States War Department in 1941 as "America's First Defense Airport."

The Executive Director will oversee all aspects of the facility including
curatorial responsibilities, educational and special event programming,
volunteer training and assignment, along with aiding in the design and
implementation of new exhibits.  Included in these responsibilities will be
overall maintenance and upkeep of the museum facilities.

Requirements: A Bachelors or Masters Degree in history, public history or
museum related field, and at least three years experience.  Candidates should
have previous experience in grant writing and financial development in the
non-profit sector.  Must be able to work as a member of a team, displaying
skills as a history and people person.  Computer skills a must.  Knowledge of
military aviation, World War II and New Jersey History a plus.

Interested candidates should send a cover letter, resume with three
references, and a writing sample to the Millville Army Airfield Museum, 1
Leddon Street Millville, NJ 08332.  Salary range $27,000 to $35,000 depending
on education and experience.  A New Jersey Historical Commission Grant
partially funds this position. Applications must be postmarked no later than
