Dear Valerie,

Recognizing that you are fortunate (?) to (1) have a
[museum] job, (2) subscribe to the NY Times, and (3) don't
drink coffee, perhaps you could consider the list as a
communication tool that extends to many who do not meet
those three criteria?  For instance, while I feel fortunate
to have a museum job, I do not subscribe to the NY Times and
~GASP~ I drink a big cup (12 oz.) of decaffeinated coffee a
day.  LOL!

Even if one has a museum job, isn't it interesting to see
what else (jobs, news, etc) is happening beyond one's
self-imposed plastic bubble?  Articles from the NY Times can
illicit discussion and debate which is what keeps a
professional discipline from extinction and responsive to
public need and trends.  If a post is museum-related
(including articles forwarded from the NY Times), than it
belongs here, at Museum-L!  As for coffee, take it or leave
it . . . however, I sure enjoyed the caffeine boost from 8
to 10 cups a day as a graduate student!

postings selectively at:

don't suggest censoring what others might find interesting
to post (as long as it is museum-related) or read.
