We have a system that works in winter, fairly well I think. In the
basement (large, constructed 1995), forced air, good filters, DriSteam
humidification. Controls are just the dial type, so adjusting them is
not good. The temp and rh stay pretty constant.

Summer in the basement is different. Dehumidification was NOT built
in and we use portable dehumidifiers, going to the floor drain, to try
to lower and even out the humidity.

We have the same kind of humidifier, only smaller, in a smaller, first
floor storage area. It doesn't keep rh as steady as the one in the
basement.

We are beginning installation of a new system in an 1899 sturcture,
and hope it will work with out destroying the building. It is
complicated, since we asked for humidification and dehumidification,
heating and cooling.

If you would like more information, please let me know.
