Here Here Jerrie! In fact there are many more of "us" small museums, with very small or non budgets, than there are of the large museums. Many of us work with hand to mouth budgets, and raise what money while gaining whatever support we can muster.

The unfortunate part of this is: a museum is not likely to survive with the support of the community movers and shakers. Unless those people in a community who can raise mega bucks, perceive the museum as "important or the museum is their cause"  the probability of a museum's
longevity is in question.

We have found it important and necessary you do as much promotion as you can on your own. Never ever miss the opportunity to remind those who can make a difference,  you continue to strive to bring something of importance that can be shared with visitors to your area and the
community! You also want to gently remind;, if you feel what we have been able to do on our own is significant and important, imagine what we could do if we had that additional support from within the community. PROMOTE PROMOTE PROMOTE & NEVER GIVE UP!
