Ah, if only that were the case.  Sadly, all too often exhibits are done for
the director's ego, the curator's ego, the designer's ego, or the bottom
line.  The visitor don't enter into it.

Anyway, exhibits and programs are only part of what's covered in a visitor
charter.  Other aspects include visitor service and amenities, which often
suffer even worse neglect.

A visitor charter merely formalizes that which Jerrie so rightly insists
should be second nature (and which I so cynically point out is often not).
