POSITION TITLE: Park Manager I (Site Manager) SALARY: $2,602/mo. POSITION
LOCATION: Republic of Texas Complex, P.O. Box 305, Washington, TX 77880
CLOSING DATE: March 27, 2001 GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION: Responsible to
the Complex Manager of the Republic of Texas State Historical Park Complex
for the overall operation, management, leadership, preservation and
curatorial care, program development and interpretation, maintenance and
Security of Barrington Living History Farm. Barrington Living History Farm
is a ca. 1850 farm interpreting the agriculture and society of the Central
Brazos River Valley. Responsibilities include supervision of personnel,
public relations, interpretation, customer service, accounting, purchasing,
budget control, correspondence park reports, safety program, resource
management and maintenance. This individual also ensures area and visitor
security and enforcement of park rules and regulations. Works closely with
volunteers and with groups to promote and operate the Farm. Acts in place of
the Complex Manager in their absence. The Republic of Texas Complex is
comprised of Barrington Living History Farm, Fanthorp Inn State Historical
Park and Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historical Park.
