Thanks for the correction about the display site.  I was surprised that
anyone would confuse the National Museum of American History with the
National Cathedral --they're nowhere near each other. :-)  Also, the sculptor
was Horatio Greenough, not Hiram Powers.  Although I suppose some people
thought this colossal sculpture was obscene, others thought it was just plain
silly because they didn't understand the classical references.  I can assure
you that it is still greeted with much amusement by many viewers.
