My show, which is one of the best behaved shows I have ever worked on,
works in Museums and historic sites pretty much every week. and pretty much
every week we break something. We pay for the repairs. but we also remove
all things that can be removed. So if we are good and break stuff all the
time. Now you deal with people who might or might not care and want to
actually be around your non reparable objects......... Our first AD and I
always talk about how we would never let a TV crew in our houses. So take
this to heart. Sure they will pay for what they break. I would just make
sure that anything they can break is stuff that can be replaced. We have
paid for floors and windows etc... Letting people in your museum might be
great but have a plan to protect your stuff and don't buy all the BS a
producer is going to try and sell up front.
