Dear colleagues,

On Friday, August 7, from 4-5:30pm EDT, the Society of Fellows in Critical Bibliography at Rare Book School will host an informal session on teaching and learning with critical bibliography in the midst of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Whether we're interacting with students online or in a socially-distanced classroom, how can we adapt our teaching to new ways of interacting both with students and the objects we teach about? How can we continue to strive to teach our materials in more inclusive, diverse, and equitable ways in newly digital or distanced contexts?

We're interested in talking together to identify shared pedagogical problems and solutions, brainstorm about resources that build on the skills we and our students have already cultivated, and talking through our recent successes and failures navigating this brave new bibliographic frontier. We'll be focusing on teaching but interested parties of any and all backgrounds and professional identities are welcome and encouraged to join.

The Zoom session will consist of a series of lightning talks from members of the SoFCB discussing their experiences and teaching strategies, followed by small-group discussion based on interests, and conclude with a general discussion. This session is free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required by August 5th. Please sign up at:
