*SUBJECT: Release of Nexus LAB: OPEN Leadership Resources for libraries,
archives, and museums*

After many months of collaboration, Educopia Institute, the Center for
Creative Leadership, TrueBearing, Toolkit Consulting, and more than 35
library, archives, and museum associations
<https://educopia.org/research/nexus> are delighted to announce the launch
of theNexus “Leading Across Boundaries” (LAB) resources
<https://educopia.org/research/nexus>!

*Who We Are*
Funded by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), the Nexus
LAB initiative brought together archivists, librarians, and museum
professionals to collaborate on leadership development.

The results? Open leadership development resources that can be used by
trainers and professionals spanning across these fields.

   1. A design framework
   <https://educopia.org/publications/nexus-layers-of-leadership> based on
shared leadership challenges and competencies in libraries, archives, and
   museums;
   2. A validated evaluation framework
<https://educopia.org/nexuslabevaluation> that can be used by leadership
trainers for any leadership program evaluation; and
   3. A set of fully-documented, open trainer materials
   <https://educopia.org/nexuslabcurriculum> for seven leadership
   curriculum modules.

Each is described briefly below. Please visit our site (
https://educopia.org/research/nexus) to learn more and to begin using these
materials.

*Layers of Leadership
<https://educopia.org/publications/nexus-layers-of-leadership>*
The Nexus LAB Layers of Leadership across Libraries, Archives, and Museums
framework, co-developed with the Center for Creative Leadership
<https://www.ccl.org/>, outlines leadership competencies for six career
stages, as well as related learning objectives and downstream outcomes
derived from increased skill.

*Evaluation <https://educopia.org/nexuslabevaluation>*
Developed in partnership with TrueBearing
<http://truebearingconsulting.com/>, this validated survey suite (pre- and
post-training surveys) ties directly to the "Layers of Leadership"
competencies and provides a common core for evaluating the impacts of
leadership training. These may be quickly customized for use in evaluating
a broad range of existing and future leadership development programs.

*Core Curriculum <https://educopia.org/nexuslabcurriculum>*
The 35 museum, library, and archives associations and trainers worked
together to identify one area of leadership development that was
under-attended: Leading the Profession. Together with Toolkit Consulting
<https://www.idealware.org/>, our team produced seven freely available
leadership curriculum modules, all aimed at "Leading the Profession." These
are flexible and customizable and include slides, detailed facilitator
notes, and activities. They are also OPEN and ready for use!

*How to Get Involved <https://www.linkedin.com/groups/12035476>*
The Nexus offerings are designed to be customizable to fit a wide variety
of continuing education and professional development environments, from
conference workshops to graduate classrooms to large-scale leadership
development programs for professionals. We encourage hosts and trainers to
freely adopt and adapt the materials to best fit their programmatic needs.
We also invite leadership development trainers and consultants to join the
project affiliated LinkedIN group to engage with others working in this
space.
