Education Department Collections & Archives Intern

The National Women's History Museum is seeking a Collections & Archives Intern to assist with a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, cataloging, data entry, digital preservation, and rehousing of manuscripts, books, and records in the Museum's study collection and resource library.


  *   Qualified candidates should be current or recent upper undergraduate university students or graduate students in Library Science, Archival Science, Preservation, History, Museum Studies, or a related field.
  *   Experience with archival and/or library principles highly preferred.
  *   Applicants should have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and writing skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work independently.
  *   Internship will run between September 3rd 2019 - December 13th 2019.
  *   Must be able to work at least 16 hours per week for a total of 200 hours over the course of the internship.
  *   Must be able to complete all work hours in the Museum offices located in Alexandria, Virginia.

Interns will receive a stipend of $1000 to be used for travel, housing, and other personal expenses.
