The Heritage Interpretation Training Center
New Heritage Interpretation Certification Programs.

Certified Professional Interpretive Planner certificate program.

The Heritage Interpretation Training Center is pleased to offer the first of our “Certified Professional” Interpretive Training Certificates,
our
Certified Professional Interpretive Planner Certificate.

http://www.heritageinterp.com/certified_professional_interpretive_planner_certif.html

While other organizations offer certified interpretive planner or related certificates, our Certified Professional Interpretive Planner Certificate is far more content extensive, taught at a university level, and more in-depth than any of the other interpretive certificates. It offers more current content and new interpretive planning examples and case studies, hands-on learning experiences and direct content with the Certificate Manager/Trainer and Coach throughout your Certification experience.

Who is the Certified Professional Interpretive Planner certificate program for?

- Individuals wanting a career in/as a professional interpretive planner.
- Individuals currently working as an interpretive planner but have had no college-level
training in interpretive master planning and related interpretive planning media and services.
- Consulting firms offering interpretive planning services whose staff does not have
professional academic training specifically in interpretive planning or college degrees majoring in heritage interpretation.

- Individuals working in the interpretive profession who do not have a B.S. or M.S degree majoring in heritage interpretation or who have

had only one or two courses in heritage interpretation and want to advance their knowledge in interpretation skills, research and theory.
- Folks who wish to use this professional certification for their agency or personal professional career advancement.
- Interpreters with an insatiable desire to learn and be the best they can be as a professional heritage interpreter - knowledge is power.

Our Certified Professional Interpretive Planner Certificate is:

- Taught and coached by professional interpretive planner John Veverka with 40 years of professional interpretive planning experience, as well as years of teaching interpretive master planning courses. This includes developing and teaching an interpretive master planning course at the Ohio State University and teaching introductory and advanced courses in heritage interpretation at Michigan State University. As an active interpretive planner, John recently completed several interpretive planning projects (2017) including the interpretive plan for Clemson University – Historic Campus Interpretive Plan and Regional Heritage Interpretive Planning projects in Saudi Arabia. Among other projects, John is currently developing an updated interpretive master plan for Nine Mile Canyon, Utah.

- The Certification Program is based on a University Course progression system consisting of participants completing eight (8) actual courses in interpretation, not just taking one interpretive workshop, one open book test and mainly paying the certification course fee. This Certificate course is offered in a content sequence leading up to the final course in developing your interpretive master plan. This is a rigorous and serious certification program you will have to work hard to achieve.

- Awards 20 CEU (Continuing Education Units) credits for the Certification from each individual course that is offered as part of the Certificate Program. While you can work on the certificate at your own pace, the estimated completion time is 10 months.

- If you have completed other HITC courses in the past, they can be applied to this certification program and your certification program fee would be reduced. :)
