Registration / Administrative Assistant The Anderson Collection, Menlo Park, CA Seeking a responsible individual to assist part-time in the management and maintenance of one of the outstanding private collections of twentieth-century American art in the United States. The Anderson Collection is preparing for a major exhibition of more than 300 works and needs assistance with organizing shipping / packing arrangements. Registration duties include: coordinating shipping & receiving, oversee collection management database, weekly, monthly, and annual inventory reviews, insurance reports and billing, overseeing reproduction requests, and assisting in educational programming. Administrative duties include: correspondence, telephone, filing, and special duties as assigned. Qualifications: A degree in art history or museum studies and a knowledge of contemporary art is preferred. The Anderson Collection employs a small mostly part-time staff. Each staff member participates in a broad range of projects that fall both within and outside their job descriptions. Flexibility and an interest in all activities of running an art collection are necessary qualifications for the position. Excellent communication and inter-personal skills are fundamental to the functioning of this small office. We, therefore, encourage people with diverse backgrounds to apply. Wage will be $12 - $15/hour based on experience, for working 14 - 20 hours a week. More than two-thirds of the collection, which presently includes over 800 works, is on view at the Quadrus office complex in Menlo Park, California.
