I'm thinking about setting up a web page with resources for small to medium-sized museums. At first it would offer links to other sites and free resources like tips on how to preserve or display items, where to locate materials and examples of forms and computer program reviews. Later I might move it into a one stop shopping point for museum supplies and publications that are available for dozens of individual sources now. But before I do too much planning and layout on this future site, I'd appreciate some input as to what you would like to see on your perfect dream museum-related web site. For our purposes, there are no limits, money's no problem, server space is no problem, professional help is right there 24 hours a day. So, what would you like to see? Have all the Technical Bullentins and the like from the National Park Service and American Association of State and Local History available? Perhaps a place where you could post questions about conservation situations and have professionals reply? Maybe an exhibit design of the month where a museum's major exhibit is presented and each step in the process of creating it, from idea to final product is discussed? A listing of traveling exhibits, their availability and requirements? A section where each month a major grant-making institution discusses what they're looking for and how best to work with them? A place where people could post their personal ten basic rules of good museum keeping (or lessons I've learned the hard way)? Anyway, those are just someof my ideas. I'm sure other people have others. I'd love to hear yours and perhaps incorpoarate them into my dream site. And in closing, I thank you for your time and trouble. Thomas E. (Pete) Jordon
