I was asked today if I knew of a Wilkes Museum in America, possibly in North or South Carolina. (Wilkes' wife was from Buckinghamshire, he lived here for a time, but I don't remember that he ever went to America ... perhaps during his period of exile? Were his political views so influencial in America that a museum honoring him was founded?) Many thanks for any advice which I can pass on (and which I can add to our Wilkes file). -- Pat Reynolds [log in to unmask] Keeper of Social History, Buckinghamshire County Museum "It might look a bit messy now, but just you come back in 500 years time" (T.
