I guess one of the eventualities of writing, for no matter where you get your info, is that you'll want to sell a book and do some great book signings at credible institutions; electronic publishing is okay, but it's not the only way. We will still have books to deal with in the coming millenia, and the move is to make books with better materials, even acid-free. So as our previous colleagues have said, find a format and make your citation as concise as possible, date it and make sure that the information can be backed up in other publications.
