Consider this another vote for Claris FileMaker Pro - the easiest database I
have ever used, both Mac and Windows.  I don't know how it hooks up to the
Web, but I have used it for more than one exhibition to do every style of
output, and the price is certainly competitive.  If you can't afford a
collections management package, this is the way I would go, and when you can
afford to move up it should be possible to migrate your data.
