Larisa, Surely there must be at least another zero in that figure. That equates to a computer breakdown every 37 days. I've installed systems that have been running for spans of over 1.5-2 years (8-12 hour days) without any service at all. This emphasizes the importance of investing in appropriate equipment for the exhibit. We just had a flurry of mouse-trackball vs. touchscreen posts... perhaps these figures justify my position against using keyboards, trackball/mouse devices for user input? Hmmmm....? What components are you listing in the catagory of "computer/multimedia" exhibit. More mechanically oriented devices such as LaserDisk players, which are often hooked to a computer system to provide windowed video, are more prone to breakdowns, specially when used in applications where they are constantly being instructed to do searches in response to user commands. If you find any official figures for this, please let me know. Mark C. Does anyone know these figures? What are the numbers and where do they come from? Thank you in advance, Larisa Overmier Manager Museum-Ed
