DUTIES: Under the direction of the Administrator/Curator the successful applicant will: - Determine volunteer sources, recruit and train volunteers and develop job descriptions - Coordinate and supervise volunteer tasks as required and develop a recognition program - attend workshops, keep abreast of developments in volunteerism and develop a comprehensive volunteer procedures manual - coordinate and present museum programs - review current programs and develop others as deemed appropriate - assist the Administrator/Curator as required QUALIFICATIONS: - University degree in a discipline related to museum work or equivalent experience in tasks and responsibilities - Good verbal and written communication skills - Good interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work alone - Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to relate well to all museum personnel - Computer skills, and a valid driver's licence - A strong commitment to the concept of volunteerism Grande Prairie Museum is currently in the process of developing a Master Plan.
