Dear Museum-Lers

A Children's Museum for which I serve on the Board of Directors is
facing the need to make some serious long-term plans for future
facilities, and is in need of advice and assistance.

How many Children's Museums own their own facility? Has anyone had any
experience with a Children's Museum co-locating with some other type of
museum (history, science center, arts, etc)? How about some other type
of organization, either for-profit or non-profit?

What kind of co-location "teams" worked well, or not so well? Did one
organization own the facility and lease to the other? If so, did the
lease arrangement work out well? Why or why not?

If the Children's Museums were leasing from another organization, were
the arrangements better from a fellow non-profit or from a for-profit
organization?

Any advice, assistance, horror stories or other words of wisdom would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
