Thanks to generous support from The Bauman Foundation, Project MUSE (Museums Uniting with Schools in Education) was formed at the Harvard Graduate School of Education's Project Zero in 1994. Project MUSE is a collaboration of researchers, classroom teachers, museum educators, and school principals from this country and abroad. Over the last two years, these collaborators have explored the potential of art museums to serve as integral elements of education. Researchers distributed a questionnaire and drafts of developing learning tools and educational approaches for the educators' review and input. The findings and final products of this project are contained in a report entitled The MUSE (Museums Uniting with Schools in Education) BOOK (Building On Our Knowledge).
