At AAM in Denver in 1991 as part of a panel presentation entitled "Making
It Through the Big One: Museums and Natural Disasters", Ted Greenberg,
Registrar of the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco gave a good
presentation on their relative unpreparedness for the SF quake.  I don't
know if his talk was ever preserved in printed from - though AAM sold
tapes of all sessions - but it may be worthwhile contacting them.
