I guess this is a "Dear John" letter- Speaking from a calligraphy/graphic artist point of view: Upper and lower case is much easier to read than all caps. Generally the longer the line, the more distance necessary between lines; this space is the "track" your eye follows to get back to the beginning of the next line. A condensed type is easier to read in long lines than a wider, more open letter style. Keep it short. People don't read any more than they can help it unless they are compulsive readers like me.
