The computerization of museum collection data in accessible data bases is
an ongoing issue. How are the data best captured? How are these data best
made available both to the academic community and to the applied user community.

The megacollection that number hundred of thousands in size have support
from sources such as the National Science Foundation. Valuable information
resides in collections of smaller size, and regional focus.
