I would like to know if anyone who went to the Smithsonian/UM conference
would be willing to provide a brief assessment of the role of museums in
a democratic society as determined by the conference. I am researching the
Enola Gay controversy and compling a bibliography of sources where one might
go if interested in further pursuing this topic in a narrow and broader
sense.

I realize the tapes are now available, but time and my pocket book will
not allow me to purchase them just yet. I would then like to cite the
conversation in a minimal way in the bibliography. In return, if someone
is interested, I would be more than happy to send a copy of what I turn in.

Thanks!
