COLLECTIONS MANAGER/PROGRAM MANAGER VERMONT COLLECTIONS CARE PROGRAM (2nd posting) The Vermont Museum and Gallery Alliance is seeking a collections manager/program director to administer an on-going collections care program to benefit its 150 non-profit institutional members. The collections manager will coordinate collections surveys, organize collections management and conservation workshops, and administer a grant program to support surveys, preventive conservation actions, and conservation treatments. Outreach duties include organizing a library of technical information, responding to members' requests for advice on collections care and preservation, and contributing to a State-wide newsletter. Qualifications include an advanced degree in conservation or related museum studies, knowledge and experience in collections care management, working experience with volunteers and staff at historical societies and small museums, strong organizational, teaching, and administrative skills, strong written, oral and computer communication skills, an ability to work independently, and interest in continuing to improve an established program. Applicant must be willing to travel around Vermont and will provide own automobile. Work schedule is flexible, but some work may be required on weekends and during the evening. 20 hour/week position will pay $11,000-$13,500 plus travel allowance.
