COLLECTIONS MANAGER. The Lehigh County Historical Society--one of the largest historical organizations in Pennsylvania with nine historic sites, library/archive, 10 full-time staff--seeks experienced individual to assume responsibility for care and management of 30,000-object collection and collections database administration. Responsible for accessions, cataloging, loans, collections records management, conservation, and storage of object collections at nine historic sites and four storage sites. Must maintain the collections database, "Minaret". Will work as part of a curatorial team responsible for collections, research, and interpretation. Will assist with exhibit development and installation, educational programming, and special events planning. Successful candidate must have extensive knowledge of collections management, accepted standards and practices for collections care and conservation, housekeeping in historic sites, computers, and the ability to train and supervise interns and volunteers. Must have ability to conceive, develop, write, and administer grants for the care and use of collections and properties. Candidates should be familiar with "Nomenclature" and historic building preservation, and have superior verbal, research, writing, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
